A catmosphere is a great expression of love for your cat — a safe and fun place where your cat can be fully cat.
Cats love watching movement as they sniff the breeze and listen to bird chatter. They bask in the sun. They jump, wrestle, play, and run. These are some of the greatest joys of being a cat. A good window offers some benefits, but for the more full experience and greater exercise options, a catio provides safe access to the outdoors.
This is a huge reason I love my work: seeing the cat joy, and also the great pleasure it brings to their people. Often there are creative solutions to fit a catio into just about any space or budget — and where feasible, larger spaces can provide outdoor relaxation for everyone — pet owners and their cats together.
In the example below, Elizabeth found a bargain on a second-hand standalone catio structure. She had us do the custom work to build the window box, connector tunnels, runways and lookouts. Now Almond and Peanut enjoy a safe and exciting wonderland in their backyard!
For many situations, a free-standing catio with window insert and connecting bridge works beautifully. Malcolm was all over it immediately! For this project, we provided design and build on all parts.
This was quite a situation! The cats you see below had developed a risky curiosity about the wider world. So their gate and deck were secured, and they got a safe lookout. I came up with a low-footprint solution that didn't use up any space that was already being used.
