Lots of doors requires careful planning!
Miss Crick tells me her druthers.
One of Crick's project requirements was skritches.
I had to begin with deck stringers.
An additional challenges was to keep a coffin freezer running, with not much space to put it!
Limited windows to preserve accessibility required the deck to be built in stages.
Always so satisfying to complete a solid surface!
Framing and doors.
These doors can both open; one for everyday use, with a smaller one anchored top and bottom.
This entire end of the catio can be opened up to preserve as much space as possible in case EMTs require stretcher access.
A door out to the backyard was needed as well.
I *really* liked working here.
There was a construction site next door and I was dismayed to see the almost total lack of hearing protection among the young workers.
I have to say this kind of thing scratches a very deep itch.
Nice tidy corner.
Another nice tidy corner.
All meshed up and nowhere you need to go!
Much cozier than concrete pavers!
My favourite kind of catio is one that improves things for both cats and humans.
