Catioist: catio thyself! Our own catio was built long before I built catios...a quick and necessary enclosure for our deck, which is about thirty feet up. I recently decided to replace decaying garden netting with something a little more solid. The netting was previously on the inside of the railing, but now the mesh is on the outside and I replaced the top all the way around. They now have an uninterrupted ~60 feet of perimeter to spy from.

Originally, this was Charlie's only option to look south.

But now he has an embarrassment of riches.

These panels are four feet high and purposefully unsupported along the top to discourage climbing.

The big pine tree is a lot further away than it looks and my guys are so happy that I trust them not to try any funny business. Even when there are squirrels.

Catio builders have the most spoiled cats.

I've been debating putting a roof on this thing but he really likes the sunshine.

I included a hatch and pulley system so I can lower down massive buckets of pine needles rather than having to carry them through the house. We get a LOT of pine needles in the catio.

I added a nice corner observation platform but Augie wanted to observe other things.

I want a door here, too.

Of course you can have a door here too, Augie.

Glen was allowed in this catio and immediately began to challenge the existing baffles, which he found insufficiently baffling.
